When Girls Can Do Everything: Stories from Uganda and Kyrgyzstan
Show Notes

Around the world, period poverty poses a real barrier to girls' ability to stay in school and continue their education.

When girls are in control of their menstrual health and hygiene, they are able to attend school no matter the time of the month and actively engage in community life without constraints, further advancing the fight for gender equity in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To address these issues, Good Neighbours UK (www.goodneighbours-uk.org), in close collaboration with field partners around the world, works tirelessly to support girls and women to overcome period poverty. We do so by taking a dual approach of practical support and broader community information campaigns that help dispel the stigma and taboos associated with menstruation.

To celebrate the York International Women's Week, Good Neighbours UK is trilled to bring you keynote speakers from Uganda and Kyrgyzstan to share with you inspiring stories of female resilience and empowerment.
